We Built an App (With a Little Help from AI)

Every year at Cactusforce, we push ourselves to try something new. This year, we asked: what if AI could help us solve one of our biggest challenges, giving attendees an easy way to navigate the event?

So we built Cactusforce.app.

Why We Built It

Let's be honest: reviewing the schedule, finding when our favorite speaker is up, connecting with sponsors, and tracking sessions across two days can be overwhelming. We wanted something simple and clean that puts everything you need in one place, no downloads, no friction.

How We Built It

The Cactus Crew experimented with popular Gen AI and AI platforms vO and Lovable to see if we could build something meaningful without starting from scratch.

Could AI help us design the interface? Map out the user flow? Generate components? Debug faster?

Turns out, yes.

We settled on the Floot platform, but we still had a long way to go. We tested what AI can actually do, where it falls short, and how to work alongside it.

What's Inside the App

Here's what you'll find:

  • Full session schedule with filtering by day and time

  • Speaker bios and session details so you know what you're walking into

  • Sponsor directory to explore the companies making this event possible

  • See Today’s schedule, created a personalized schedule

  • Bookmark sessions you don't want to miss and watch the Live Streams

  • Favorite the best sessions on your schedule

  • See Today’s schedule and View Announcements

  • View maps of the facility and Expo

  • Get all the answers on the FAQ or get Real-time updates if anything changes

It's mobile-friendly, works on any device, and loads fast. No app store required.

How to Access It

Starting today, head to cactusforce.app from any browser to have a look around. Registered attendees can access the app and participate in Cactusforce online.

That's it. Bookmark it, add it to your home screen, and you're good to go.

Why This Matters

We built it because we're curious about how AI changes what's possible for teams solving real problems. And we wanted to share that journey with you.

If you're wondering how AI fits into your workflow, what it can actually help you build, or where the hype meets reality, come to Cactusforce. These are the kind of conversations happening between sessions and over lunch. Exactly the kind senior developers and architects are navigating.

See you in Scottsdale. 🌵
